Movie Review - The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor

Last Friday went to Cathay Ang Mo Kio HUB with Hubby, Rina and Victor to catch the show (Although I am freaking tired and still have to work @ KFC the next day).

Cast: Brendan Fraser, Jet Li, Michelle Yeoh

Director: Rob CohenGenre:Action/ Adventure

Language: English

Release Date:31 July 2008

Running Time:113 minutes

Distributor:UIP

The blockbuster global Mummy franchise takes a spellbinding turn as the action shifts to Asia for the next chapter in the adventure series, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.

Brendan Fraser returns as explorer Rick OConnell to combat the resurrected Han Emperor (Jet Li) in an epic that races from the catacombs of ancient China high into the frigid Himalayas. Rick is joined in this all-new adventure by son Alex (newcomer Luke Ford), wife Evelyn (Maria Bello) and her brother, Jonathan (John Hannah). And this time, the OConnells must stop a mummy awoken from a 2,000-year-old curse who threatens to plunge the world into his merciless, unending service.

Doomed by a double-crossing sorceress (Michelle Yeoh) to spend eternity in suspended animation, Chinas ruthless Dragon Emperor and his 10,000 warriors have laid forgotten for eons, entombed in clay as a vast, silent terra cotta army. But when dashing adventurer Alex OConnell is tricked into awakening the ruler from eternal slumber, the reckless young archaeologist must seek the help of the only people who know more than he does about taking down the undead: his parents. As the monarch roars back to life, our heroes find his quest for world domination has only intensified over the millennia. Striding the Far East with unimaginable supernatural powers, the Emperor Mummy will rouse his legion as an unstoppable, otherworldly force...unless the OConnells can stop him first.

Now, in The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, the trademark thrills and visually spectacular action of the Mummy series will be redefined for a new generation.

Errmmm.. I should say this show is not that kinda "VERY NICE" or "MUST WATCH SHOW". But I should say it's rather a break through with so many Chinese acting in English show.. Hahaha... At times I was wondering if I am watching a Chinese movie or English movie.. Anyhow, do watch the show if you have the time. With their funny dialogue and creatures, I think it's still worthwhile..

Following the success of Money No Enough, Jack Neo is coming back with another season of Money No Enough 2. In this movie, Mark Lee, Marcus Chin and Henry Thia will act as siblings. It's all about how greeds can cause one's wealth to run dry up. And it's also about how filial we can be. I would say this time round Jack Neo did not do as good as the previous ones. Probably, I am expecting too much for part 2.. Anyhow, if you have the time, pls proceed to the cinema and watch this movie ba.

Funny ba.. Editted myself from an email send by my friends. Oops.. Hope I didn't violate any law.

Movie Review - DARK KNIGHT

In fact, I don't really understand why recently the shows hitting the cinemas are running so long hours. But to be frank, it's value for my money.. Hehehehe...

Yesterday went for a moive @ Golden Village Yishun. Me, hubby, Karen, Royce, Vincent & Geling went to see the DARK KNIGHT. I don't really fancy heroic movie like Batman, Spiderman or even Superman. I did not even seen the movie previously showed are Spiderman 1 & 2 and like Batman Return... blah blah blah

Anyway, yesterday was the first time, I went to cinema to watch Batman. I should say, it's full of action pack and excitement. Just my taste and I like the story line. The follow-up to the action hit Batman Begins, The Dark Knight reunites director Christopher Nolan and star Christian Bale, who reprises the role of Batman/Bruce Wayne. In The Dark Knight, Batman raises the stakes in his war on crime. With the help of Lieutenant Jim Gordon and District Attorney Harvey Dent, Batman sets out to dismantle the remaining criminal organizations that plague the city streets. The partnership proves to be effective, but they soon find themselves prey to a reign of chaos unleashed by a rising criminal mastermind known to the terrified citizens of Gotham as the Joker.

A Painful Show - Red Cliff

Hahaha... The first time in my life, my buttocks and my spine is painful after watching a show. Yup yup! I went to watch RED CLIFF yesterday with Karen, Royce, Sherard, Rina & hubby @ Yishun Golden Village. Although the show is not very long but all thanks to my spine.. I can't sit quietly throughout the show but keep on fidgeting.. Haiz

Cast: Tony Leung, Takeshi Kaneshiro, Lin Chi-ling
Director: John Woo
Genre:Drama/ Action
Language: Mandarin
Release Date:11 July 2008Running
Time:150 minutes

Hmmm.. I would say this is a very nice show if you like fighting / war scene, blood gushing out everywhere, bodies all around the place (like me). Hahaha... Its rather excited and watching this show makes me feel that I am playing my PSP - Dynasty Warrior...

In 208 A.D., in the final days of the Han Dynasty, shrewd Prime Minster Cao Cao convinced the fickle Emperor Han the only way to unite all of China was to declare war on the kingdoms of Xu in the west and East Wu in the south. Thus began a military campaign of unprecedented scale, led by the Prime Minister, himself. Left with no other hope for survival, the kingdoms of Xu and East Wu formed an unlikely alliance. Numerous battles of strength and wit ensued, both on land and on water, eventually culminating in the battle of Red Cliff. During the battle, two thousand ships were burned, and the course of Chinese history was changed forever.

I love the graphics and the dialogue.. It's a little funny out of the serious history lesson. But I hate it too.. How come only half of the show.. WHERE the hell is the ending? WHAT happen to the battleship of Cao Cao? DID Zhu Ge Liang (by Takashi Kaneshiro) and Zhou Yu (by Tony Leong) win the battle that time? Arrgghhh.. Must wait again. Oh yah! In case you were thinking what I am saying, let me explain. The show ended at the battle where Liu Bei's army lead by Zhu Ge Liang & Zhou Yu and the won the land battle but there is still battle on the sea which they did not show. Well needless to say, the show ended there with TO BE CONTINUED..

Hope Part 2 release soon before everyone forgotten the storyline of Part 1.. I will slowly and patiently wait.. I won't rant... =)

Review of Rule #1

After watching the show yesterday night, hmmm.. How should I put it? Not a very good one like "THE MAID".

This show is about a rookie cop by Shawn Yue was transfer to Miscellaneous Adminstration (Can't remember if this is correct anot) Department (MAD) after he killed a wanted man by Hong Kong Police Force. Reason he is being transferred is because of his statement. In his statement he mentioned that he saw a ghost and it was the ghost who save his life. And his officer wanted him to change his statement as they thinks that it is ridiculous but Shawn Yue refuse to change.

When he reaches MAD, he and his officer by Ekin Cheng always received calls from the public saying that their place got "dirty" things and wanted them to assist to find a way out. Few occasions, Ekin lied to the public that there was nothing happen but Shawn saw the "things" and was very unhappy with Ekin stating that how can he lied to the public. Ofcos Ekin explain to his doings and Shawn had sort of accept.

The most exciting part came.. Shawn was haunted by the man which he killed before he was transferred to MAD. And this man had possessed countless woman and kill them. And ofcos Shawn's wife/ girlfriend by Fiona Xie was also being possessed and .......

Go to the cinema and see this show lah.. No free show here de lor... Pay up if u wanna complete the story.. ;)

This show storyline is not really scary. The scary part is the sound system. Tokong ar.. Near scare me to death... Go try yourself ba..
